How is everyone doing today? We are on day three of homeschooling--my husband is helping with math and handwriting while I get some writing done, and then I'll do geography. The weather is absolutely gorgeous and we're all healthy, so thankful here. What about you? What's going on in your part of the world?
Morning!! Well, Rob stressed working in the study (solving company IT issues), Luc unimpressed with new timetable I have given him, Ben getting ready to work at Sainsbury’s (which makes me a tad nervous) and I am trying to get things done around the house and nurse my mental health before I go back to work in school next week. Ugh!!

Dave is working in the dining room (and periodically pops out to tell us to keep it down while he's on phone calls). Abby is working in the family room. James and Jack are set up in the basement. Jordan does school work in his room or the family room. Mom mostly stays in her room but gets out for an occasional walk or to unload the constantly running dishwasher. Andy is reveling in no school at least till the end of this week. I just make meals and clean but usually get my 10,000 steps in the process. Very strictly observing the quarantine. Our days are pretty quiet but the evenings are lively.

Time to look on the bright side of life! With everything in lockdown, there's lots of time to read! Let's start a thread with must-read books. Post a title of a book and its genre and let's get the recommendations going.

How is everything where you are? Tell me where you live and what the situation on the ground is. I'm in south Wales, things are fairly calm, but I developed a fever and cough yesterday and although I don't feel that bad I am self-isolating for a week! Time to get lots of writing done...
I'm near Pittsburgh PA. All restaurants and bars closed. Stores only have order and pick up. Theaters, and all special outings cancelled or closed. All school shut down possibly through the end of school year. All non emergency and elective surgeries or tests cancelled. No toilet paper, paper towels, sanitizer, alcohol anywhere around. No hamburger, chicken, boxed items. It's BAD. Here is a pic of Walmart here

I am so heartened when readers reach out to me to tell me they've enjoyed one of my books. Thank you to each and every one who has sent a message, posted on my FB page, or just picked up my book! To that end, I am hoping to bring together a group of dedicated readers who would be interested in actively promoting my books on social media, in real life, wherever! If this might you, please message or email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information. The idea is that there would be a small team of readers who would be able to read my books before publication as well as some extra content, early info and involvement on new books, etc, and hopefully share the love in whatever channels are most appropriate for them. Thank you readers!! 🥰
Tonight is the first time all day I've actually got on my laptop--between flooding, illness, half-term, and just LIFE, I've barely done anything and it's publication day for my newest novel, A HOPE FOR EMILY!!! You can get it here: https://amzn.to/2HE1vjG
What's everyone making for dinner tonight?
What is everyone reading today? I just finished The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom, which I hadn't read since I was a child. I had a whole new appreciation for it as an adult! What about you?
Just finished Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup by John Carreyrou, which was all about the blood-testing company, Theranos. Fascinating. I'm currently transcribing Ariana Neumann talking about her book, When Time Stopped, which is about her father, a Czech Jew who hid in plain sight under false papers in Berlin during the war and then left Europe for Venezuela and started an extremely successful business there. He never talked about his past, but left his daughter a box filled with letters and memorabilia and she's pieced the story together from it. Fascinating stuff.
