Finally
I've made a start on my next book. I wrote the prologue a few days ago, and have now written half of chapter one. It's a relief to have actually got something down on paper, while at the same time I'm in that this-is-painful part of writing, because I'm not 'in' to the book yet, and everything feels new and strange. But hopefully that will change soon, and the writing will flow with smooth and wonderful ease...I know my characters and I like them, and I feel like I pretty much know where this book is going, but still as I write there are usually a few surprises. And sometimes they're good surprises--added depth and characterisation--and sometimes they're not so good--plot holes and flimsy motivation--so we'll see how this goes.
I'm on a pretty tight writing schedule because I want to finish this book and hand it in by mid-July, before we move.
And in personal news, our house has a buyer--the ministry my husband works for wants to buy it for the next worker, which is great because it means we don't need a realtor or to show it. Now we just need to find an apartment...

Tight deadline? Completing by mid-July sounds unbelievably tight to someone like me who's never completed a novel.
I wish you best of luck with this latest project, and can only admire your level of output!
