Almost finished chapter 2
and then I think the writing will go a bit more smoothly. One can hope, right? I'm at 8,500 words, having managed about 2,000 words for the last three nights.

I wrote a scene with a meal, which I always like to do. I looked up a recipe from Yemen which sounds yummy: melon halves stuffed with lemon and parsley-flavoured chicken and rice. I'd eat that!

I get it. You write books in real life, and you're here listing your progress :-) Let me know if you'd like any resources on Yemeni culture or Suqutra in particular- I can point you in the right direction. Or see my Listmania- Books on Suqutra. And do let me know when this book is published- though I'm not much of a romance reader, I would like to read something set on Suqutra, or a fictionalized version of it.

I'm not sure when it will be published--probably summer 2009. And my version of Socotra will be quite fictionalised as I've never been there, although I'm enjoying the research :)
